Escapology, Urban Air open in Tyler; Attractions provide indoor adventures to all ages

There is a contaminated laboratory at Escapology — The Live Escape Game that leaves those who enter scrambling to find an antidote.

At Urban Air Adventure Park, customers can literally fly through the room on the Sky Rider, an indoor roller-coaster zip line.

Escapology and Urban Air both recently opened at Suite 120 in the Village at Cumberland Park, 8958 S. Broadway Ave.

While the businesses share a lobby, they offer very different activities designed to encourage team building and to test the body or mind.

"It's a fabulous opportunity for friends, family members or co-workers to put down their iPhones and iPads and actually do something to connect,” said Parker Coddington, a partner at TOP FEC, which owns both attractions.

"No one ever says, 'Remember that time when we were all sitting at the bar looking at our phones (not talking to each other)?'"

URBAN AIR

Urban Air, which opened in September, features more than 10 attractions, including an indoor ropes course, Slam Dunk Zone and climbing walls.

Trampolines run throughout much of the building. And while many of the activities are geared toward children, Coddington said the park is for people of all ages.
